GENERIC NAME:
Pseudorabies Vaccine, Live (Strain Bartha-K61)
COMPOSITION:
Pseudorabies virus (Bartha-K61 strain) ≥ 5x103.0TCID50/dose.
CHARACTERISTIC:
The product presents as sponge-like, loosely-packed clusters that easily disengage from the bottle wall, and rapid dissolution in the PBS.
INDICATION(S):
The product is used to prevent the Pseudorabies in pigs, cattle and sheep. The immunity will be generated at the 6th day after administration, and providing protection for a duration of 12 months.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
Administer via intramuscular injection. Dilute with PBS to achieve a concentration of 1 dose/ml as indicated on the label.
Swine:
Pregnant sows and adult pigs: 2.0ml per head
Pigs aged 3 months and older (including feeder pigs): 1.0ml per head
Piglets: Initial vaccination of 0.5ml, subsequent post-weaning dose of 1.0ml
Cattle:
Cattle aged 1 year and above: 3.0ml per head
Cattle aged 5-12 months: 2.0ml per head
Calves aged 2-4 months: Initial vaccination of 1.0ml, post-weaning dose of 2.0ml
Sheep:
Sheep aged 4 months and older: 1.0ml per head
SPECIAL WARNING IF NECESSARY:
1. Ensure that the vaccine is utilized on the day of opening the vial to maintain its efficacy.
2. Before administration, ensure local disinfection measures are taken.
3. Optimal timing for vaccination in pregnant sows falls within 21-28 days before parturition. Maternally derived antibodies in piglets born to vaccinated sows remain effective for 21-28 days. Subsequent vaccination is required for piglets or weaned pigs. Unvaccinated sows' offspring can be vaccinated within 7 days postpartum and again after weaning.
4. In regions under disease threat or within an endemic area, urgent vaccination is warranted for all livestock, including asymptomatic animals. This proactive approach encompasses not only diseased animals but also those showing no clinical manifestations.
5. Disposal of used vaccine vials, equipment, and any remaining vaccine should adhere to proper procedures to ensure safe and eco-friendly disposal.
