DESCRIPTION:
The product is a white or off-white tablet.
PHARMACOLOGICAL EFFECTS:
The product is a beta-lactam antibiotic. It has an antibacterial effect similar to that of cefalexin, but its antibacterial effect against Salmonella and Shigella is weaker than that of cefalexin. Enterococci, Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc. are resistant to the product. It is stable in gastric acid, rapidly absorbed, and independent of food after oral administration. It reaches a peak blood concentration of 18.6 µg/mL within 1-2h after an oral dose of 22 mg/kg in dogs, and only 20% is bound to plasma proteins. It is excreted in large quantities in urine with a half-life of 2h. 50% of the product is excreted in urine in an unchanged form within 24h after administration. Its half-life in cats is nearly 3h.
INDICATIONS:
It is used for respiratory, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue infections in dogs and cats caused by susceptible pathogens including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pasteurella and Klebsiella.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Calculated based on cefadroxil. Oral dose for dogs and cats: 22 mg/kg body weight once daily. Administration should be continued until 2-3 days after the symptoms of diseases disappear.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Diarrhea, loose stools or vomiting may occasionally be observed. These symptoms occur infrequently, are mild and temporary
.PRECAUTIONS:
It is recommended to administer the drug during or after feeding.
People known to be sensitive to penicillins or cephalosporins should avoid contact with the product.
Keep out of reach of children.
